Ohio Dept of Development is accepting applications for $10M in Solar, Conservation & Efficiency grants
State Energy Program
The State Energy Program will enable Ohio to stimulate the creation and retention of jobs, save energy, increase energy generation from renewable energy, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The program is a collaboration between the Ohio Department of Development and the Ohio Air Quality Development Authority with input from additional state agencies. The total level of State Energy Program funding allocated to Ohio is $96,083,000.
The following program is currently available for eligible projects and funded through the State of Ohio’s State Energy Program allocation from the Department of Energy:

Deploying Renewable Energy: Wind and SolarAdditional programs as described in the State of Ohio’s executive summary for the State Energy Program will be announced soon.
In accordance with American Recovery and Reinvestment Act’s State Energy Program, the Ohio Department of Development solicits applications for the installation of solar electric, solar thermal, and wind electric technologies within the State of Ohio. Projects must be completed or deployed within twelve (12) months from the date of grant award.
To be considered for funding for the Deploying Renewable Energy: Wind and Solar program, all interested parties must complete a two-step application process:
- Submit a one-page project summary on the www.recovery.ohio.gov/opportunities/state/ website no later than 5:00 pm on September 21, 2009. Applicants that have already submitted a summary at www.recovery.ohio.gov/opportunities/state/ do not need to submit again.
- NOTE: On the www.recovery.ohio.gov/opportunities/state/ page, click on “Submit your Proposal” in the “How to Apply” box. When filling out the “Project Information” section of the form, choose the Federal Stimulus Program category “Energy and Environment” and the subprogram “State Energy Program.”
- Submit an application to the Ohio Department of Development, Ohio Energy Office no later than 3:00 p.m. on September 25, 2009. The application form is found below:
Targeting Industry Efficiency

In accordance with American Recovery and Reinvestment Act’s State Energy Program, the Ohio Department of Development solicits applications for industrial energy efficiency projects in targeted industries, including but not limited to:
Polymers and Advanced Materials. Technologies can include combined heat and power, demand reduction, industrial assessments for carbon mitigation opportunities, industrial energy efficiency improvements in process heat applications, motors, and other industrial systems. The Targeting Industry Efficiency Program will match private investments in projects that will move forward and be deployed within the next twelve (12) months of the grant award.

- Bio Science and Bio-products
- Refrigerated Warehousing/Distribution,
- Instruments, Controls and Electronics,
