Thank you/Recap for Green Transportation Workshop

Columbus,

Thank you for coming out to Cbus Green Life’s first workshop on Green Transportation this past Friday at the Dublin Entrepreneurial Center.
Our event was a great success, thanks to the terrific content presented by Consider Biking and Third Hand.
Jeff Stephens and Doug Morgan shared stories about their experiences and efforts to promote biking and walking as a modal shift. They are trying to get people in Columbus to replace some of their vehicle transportation with biking and walking. The goal is that by 2012, everyone is using alternative transport at least 2 days a month.
Justin and Jason from Third Hand told us about their bike co-op on East 5th Avenue. The primary goal of The Third Hand Bicycle Co-op is to promote cycling as safe and environmentally responsible transportation. As a non-profit organization, the Co-op provides community members with the facilities, tools, skills and knowledge to help make cycling an essential part of their everyday lives.
Thanks again to Consider Biking, who donated drinks, refreshments and snacks for us to enjoy before, during and after the workshop. We will also be posting video of the workshop very soon.

CGL's Next Event: This Saturday, April 18th 2009. Building a Rain Garden for Earth Day
As part of Green Columbus’ Picture This! Earth Day 09, we are installing a rain garden at Linworth Alternative High School. We will be there Saturday morning at 10am to clean up the grounds and build the rain garden.
