Innovation Award Winners - congratulations!!

Thirteen central Ohio individuals, businesses and organizations were honored yesterday for their achievements in technology by TechColumbus during its annual Innovation Awards program.

The categories and winners:

• Green innovation -- Velocys Inc.

• Outstanding service (fewer than 50 employees) -- KidsLinked.com

• Outstanding service (50 or more employees) -- WorldCat Local from Online Computer Library Center

• Outstanding product (fewer than 50 employees) -- Laser Bond Inspection System from LSP Technologies, Inc.

• Outstanding product (50 or more employees) -- Liebert XD from Emerson Network Power

• Innovation in nonprofit service delivery -- Tech Corps Ohio

• Executive of the year (fewer than 50 employees) -- Michael A. Lanese, chief executive of ClearSaleing Inc.

• Executive of the year (50 or more employees) -- Mark Boyed, vice president of information technology for Zomax

• Outstanding woman in technology -- Dr. Alice Epitropoulos, of Epico/Ophthalmic Surgeons

• Inventor of the year -- Philip E. Eggers, of Cardiox Corp.

• Outstanding startup business -- EXCMR Ltd.

• Outstanding technology team -- Center for Innovation in Pediatric Practice, Drs. Kelly Kelleher and William Gardner of the Research Institute at Nationwide Children's Hospital

• Minority-owned Enterprise -- Flairsoft Ltd.

Funny an award for Zomax, considering they have gone under.
