IT Specialist

GroundWork group seeks a team-oriented professional to provide a mix of technology analysis and consulting, project management, and technical support.  The IT Specialist will provide information system solutions and technical support in one or more areas including personal computer/client server support, database and systems analysis, website consultation, network support and administration, and project management. 

In addition to the above, responsibilities will involve performing technical analysis for the design, development, production and in some instances the actual implementation of given recommendations.   The job requires the ability to make informed recommendations as well as preparing detailed support documentation and performing hands-on troubleshooting/upgrades/implementation and end-user technical support. 

The successful candidate must possess the unique capability of perceptiveness of goals, have the aptitude for developing consistent technology plans/proposals and boast a skill set capable of functional implementation.  In addition, the candidate must have strong hands-on experience with Windows Operating Systems, hardware, and/or applications, coupled with experience working with customers, sales personnel and/or customer services as well as knowledge of technical industry disciplines, technologies and applications.  Candidate must have superior presentation and communications skills, expert level of applied expertise and knowledge of at least one or more main operating systems and major hardware platforms.

The candidate must be outgoing and have the ability to interact with non profit staff while showing respect, courtesy and professionalism.  Ability to multi-task and work independently with minimal supervision is critical and the candidate must be extremely reliable and able to work a flexible schedule to ensure coverage.  Must also have the ability to handle multiple personalities and situations professionally and work in a variety of environments, ensuring an excellent ongoing interaction.

In addition to the above, qualifications for this position include:
·        Demonstrable presentation and client interfacing skills
·        Experience translating business processes and needs into project artifacts such as requirements documentation and supporting architectural designs
·        Strong analytical troubleshooting skills
·        Excellent written and verbal communication skills
·        Strong work ethic, excellent attendance, reliable
·        Team player with a positive, friendly, outgoing attitude
·        Sense of urgency for incident resolution
·        3-4 years of Network Operations administration and troubleshooting
·        Administrative/engineering knowledge level of MS Windows 2000/2003/VISTA/2007, MS Exchange 2003+, MS Office 2003/20007, LAN/WAN networking troubleshooting and analysis, Server 2008 a plus.
Own transportation and excellent driving record required
Microsoft certifications, server virtualization experience, and nonprofit experience a plus
