Innovation city's niche Intelligent Community Forum founder says (about Dublin)

You can read about an intelligent community on paper, but there's nothing like coming in for a visit, even if the weather isn't as conducive to travel as would be ideal, Intelligent Community Forum co-founder and evaluator Lou Zacharilla noted after a business roundtable in the Dublin Community Recreation Center Friday, Feb. 27.

Dublin was recently named as one of the top seven Intelligent Communities of the Year by the ICF, and is a finalist for the Intelligent Community of the Year award.

"Because we're in the top seven, they come to visit to validate our application and to interact with some of the various technologies in place," said Dana McDaniel, Dublin's deputy city manager and director of economic development.

"This is a true, open source community, where people from the government are talking with people from the private sector," Zacharilla said.
