OSU to join IBM tech project
Ohio State University students and faculty members soon will be able to manage massive projects and huge workloads using "cloud computing" as a result of a project with IBM.
The company plans to announce today that it will offer cloud computing capabilities initially with Ohio State and 19 other colleges.
Cloud computing refers to a program or service provided by a network, usually offsite, that's accessed over an Internet connection.
The IBM project also involves executives from companies such as Sharp Electronics, Medco Health Solutions and KPMG.
