Job Title: Network Operations Manager
M/I Homes, Inc., one of the nation’s leading builders of single-family homes is seeking a Network Operations Manager to join the Corporate Information Systems Team in Columbus , Ohio .
JOB SUMMARY:
Plans, organizes, coordinates, and oversees the daily operation of the company’s enterprise network.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manages the daily operations of the corporate data center including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, wireless technologies and WAN/LAN network performance. Also oversees the Help Desk operations. Act as escalation point for all network related issues.
- Advanced understanding of all aspects of LAN and WAN operation including VPN, routing, network protocols and wide area network technologies.
- Manage, support and lead technical resources that support the network infrastructure to 9 division offices and approximately 125 sales offices.
- Develops and implements standards, procedures and processes for the data center and Help Desk team.
- Estimates project costs and prepares project plans.
- Manages projects, tasks and requests to provide support to end-users.
- Orders, tracks, and documents equipment and licenses.
- Supervises, writes objectives for, monitors progress and evaluates performance of the Networking and Help Desk staff.
- Participates in the development and implementation of policies and procedures regarding network equipment, maintenance and monitoring.
- Participates in the development of RFP’s and negotiation, administration and evaluation for equipment and services.
- Performs all other duties as required.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM EDUCATION EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s Degree from a four year college or university; or equivalent work experience of a minimum of 5 years network management and related experience. 3 to 5 years of Supervisory experience. Must be able to effectively lead and manage teams.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of network administration and operating systems. Extensive Windows 2003/2008 Administration experience. Ability to administer, diagnose, and trouble shoot Microsoft Active Directory. MCSE preferred but not required. Must have experience in the following areas: administering a Microsoft Exchange 2003 / 2007 Cluster Environment, SQL 2000/2005 Administration, EMC Clarion support, Veritas Netbackup Administration, Blackberry Enterprise Server administration, managing a WAN/LAN infrastructure with remote nodes/locations and a strong working knowledge of systems management, performance tuning and monitoring tools. Cisco and VMWare and VOIP experience a strong plus. Ability to effectively support many systems and users. Good written and oral communication skills.
WORK CONDITIONS:
- General office environment.
- Travel to divisions periodically.
- Heavy lifting may be required.
- On call rotation for weekends.
