Urgent news - Critical Microsoft Product Vulnerability

Good afternoon!

I know my friend Dave will be smiling proudly at his Mac when he gets this message, but as one of my guys put it, Microsoft is officially "freaking out" about the patch mentioned below. They have had nationwide webcasts this morning and are calling every partner contact. Apparently this is a large vulnerability. There are several known exploits at this time. It sounds as if they are trying to avoid a Slammer or Nimbda type outbreak.

In short, please make sure your Windows servers and workstations get this patch (MS08-067, Vulnerability in Server Service Could Allow Remote Code Execution (958644)). Should any of you want/need assistance, please call. Also, please note, the Microsoft sites for downloading this patch seem to be intermittently down due to volume, so you may have to try more than once to successfully get the patch.

All the best,
Kurt
