The event, held at the National Composite Center in Kettering, Ohio, brought together some of the world's largest aerospace industry businesses, organizations and supply chain partners and beneficiaries to discuss the impact of Ohio's aerospace supply chain on the global market.

Airbus Americas, a world leader in aircraft manufacturing, also discussed ways for Ohio suppliers to capitalize on existing and emerging Ohio aviation manufacturing capabilities and grow Ohio's value in the Airbus supply chain.

"Ohio is a high-tech, strong aerospace state and with a business minded government approach we see an excellent basis where Airbus and its key suppliers could further increase its links with Ohio," said Allan McArtor, chairman of Airbus Americas.

Airbus Americas spent approximately $4 billion with suppliers in Ohio in 2008, more than any other state in the country.

According to the Ohio Business Development Coalition, the nonprofit organization that markets the state for capital investment, it's Ohio's complete spectrum of aerospace, aviation and advanced propulsion technologies - both military and commercial – that makes the state attractive to businesses and executives in the aerospace industry.

"Ohio is home to some of the best and brightest talent in the aerospace industry, and continues to provide the necessary tools to allow both businesses and individuals the opportunity to pursue both their professional and personal aspirations," said Ed Burghard, executive director of the Ohio Business Development Coalition. "Ohio truly is the state of Perfect Balance."
