Growing area health-care VC infusions buck regional trend - Business First of Columbus:

While venture-capital investments in health-care startups in the Midwest dropped more than 25 percent last year, infusions in Central Ohio companies headed the opposite direction, according to a new report from BioEnterprise of Cleveland.

The firm, a university consortium that helps recruit and develop biotech companies, in a new report said 13 Columbus-area health-care startups received a total of $12.4 million in venture-capital funding last year. That’s up from the $6.4 million that went to 10 companies in 2008, a tumble from more than $14 million the prior year.
