Thanks for your help - Support for Minds On Sponsored Family Overwhelming
During the month of December Minds On sponsored a local family who were experiencing exceptionally hard times and opened the effort to help to include the local community. The effort was a huge success and made a significant difference in this Central Ohio family.
As noted on the Minds On Giving Back website, this year's selected family was close to losing their home due to the long and severe illness of the parents. Thru help of supporters, Minds On helped to collect enough money to provide over $600 in cash, new furniture, clothes, medical supplies, a family vacation package, books, art supplies, gift cards for food and entertainment, iPod Nanos, and a long list of additional items. In addition, Minds On stepped in and paid the family's overdue mortgage and utilities.
We would like to thank you all, even though thank you doesn't seem enough. We all loved each and every thing that we received. By your generosity we can tell that the light of God can shine through the most darkest of times for us. We all wish we could give each of you a hug personally.
Thank You.
Tom Augustine, President of Minds On says, "As 2009 wrapped up it felt so good to be able to give back and help a family that has just run into a streak of hardship. The holidays are about giving and I really want to thank all who supported this campaign. That includes old and new friends, our staff and their families, and our loyal customers. Together we were able to give this family a Christmas they will never forget. And one of the things we discovered was this: just a few people making small contributions can change lives in significant ways."
You can find a partial list of the donors and supporters here.
Minds On plans on making the holiday campaign a yearly event. In addition, Minds On will be launching an ongoing Giving Back campaign to support charities, causes, and families all year long.
"We will definitely be doing this again next year. And we will be looking to make it even bigger," says Augustine. "Please let us know if you would like to be part of this effort next year.
