Business First's Best Places to Work Award is a voluntary nomination-based program. Employees of companies nominated for the award were asked to take part in an anonymous online survey though an independent firm. The survey was used to evaluate each company’s workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics as well as employee satisfaction. To be eligible, companies had to have a minimum level of local, full-time employees complete the survey. All companies that met the minimum completed survey requirement had their individual scores tallied by a third-party research company. Each company was then ranked against the other companies in their size category. The top companies in each size category were honored as Business First’s Best Places to Work.
