Health consequences of video gaming continues into adulthood?

Many of us do more than work with technology in our day jobs.  I know that many among us play video games—and some spend a lot of time doing so.

A study just released by the American Journal of Preventative Medicine looked at the health of adults who play video games.  While many studies have looked at younger players, the new study looks specifically at adults.  It found that female video-gamers have greater depression and poorer health than non-gamers, while male video-gamers are more overweight and spend more time using the Internet than non-gamers.

It's relatively early work, and rather than offering any prescriptive action calls for more research into how to use “digital opportunities” to promote health and to prevent disease.
