Local innovation contest offers rewards | Cincinnati Enquirer | Cincinnati.Com

Wanted: Innovators and inventors with good ideas. The reward? Up to $20,000.

Several organizations, including CincyTech, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center and Neyer Holdings, are sponsoring Cincinnati Innovates, a competition that is simply looking for bright technological, artistic or creative ideas.

Three awards for ideas that can be commercialized are sponsored by CincyTech in the amount of $20,000, $10,000 and $5,000. Three patent awards of $10,000, $2,500, and $1,000 are sponsored by the downtown law firm of Taft Stettinius & Hollister. A $2,000 Community Choice Award will be determined by voters.

All levels of technical expertise are welcome. The competition runs today through Sept. 1.
