CEO and best-selling author Gary Harpst will kick off his 50-city “Economic Acceleration Tour: Breaking The 3% Speed Limit."

“Columbus ranks seventh in the nation among large metropolitan areas for its number of “high-impact” companies, those that produce both significant revenue growth and expanding employment,” said Harpst. “Yet only 3% (2.43 percent) of the Columbus’ 82,810 businesses are considered to be high-impact. Why does it only have to be 3%? And perhaps more importantly, what are we going to do about accelerating growth for the other 97 percent of businesses here in Columbus? That’s specifically what I’ll be revealing at our Economic Acceleration Tour event on December 10,” added Harpst.

Enjoy food and drinks while Networking and Learning Information about Resources Available for Tech Start-Ups

TechColumbus, in conjunction with the Village of New Albany, will host a TechStart entrepreneur networking mixer at the New Albany Country Club, 1 Club Lane in New Albany. The free event is for local entrepreneurs, city and county officials, economic development professionals and business advisors interested in learning more about the TechStart program. The third of these events will take place on Wednesday, December 10th from 5:30 to 7:30 pm.


These entrepreneur events will give attendees the opportunity to network with others in the New Albany area community and also learn about resources available through the TechStart program. TechStart, Central Ohio’s Entrepreneurial Signature Program, is led by TechColumbus and supported financially by Ohio’s Third Frontier Program and eighteen local partners including the Village of New Albany. It provides early stage funding and mentoring assistance to entrepreneurs with promising tech businesses throughout 15 counties of Central Ohio. Representatives will provide information on program offerings, applicant eligibility, funds available and schedules for all available resources offered.
