Streamline Mind Mapping with Mindjet
by Sandy Blanquera
If you like to mind map and lay out your ideas in an easy to view summary, I’m sure you’ve tried tools of the trade. Years ago when I started in HR Information Systems, I was introduced to Visio and have used it in every job since then. Today mind mapping has moved to a whole new level. Recently, Ben and I stumbled onto a tool you may want to check out. It’s called Mindjet and it offers great flexibility in taking free form thinking to new places.
With Mindjet you can use this visual and interactive technology to capture your ideas, but also connect and share those ideas with other people via the web. No more stagnant storage on your laptop! You can use it for team structures, process flow, idea mapping and strategic outlines. We tested out Mindjet, which Ben now uses at Progressive Medical, and found some interesting features. We liked the ability for two or more people to look at a visual flow and even make changes concurrently due to the live web environment. This is an awesome benefit for people who are geographically located in different spaces. Productivity can be increased during meetings that deal with mind maps by being able to make these changes in real time.
For more information on Mindjet, check out their site. Also check out the Mindjet blog. They also have Mindjet white papers you can download for interesting reading or check out some Mindjet recommended books. There is so much information for all of us to wade through today, why not stand out from the crowd by making your ideas succinct and visually effective? Start mapping today and move away from linear thinking.

I use Mind42 (www.mind42.com) on the web and I use FreeMind (http://freemind.sourceforge.net) on the desktop.
Great to see fellow Ohioans embracing mapping! You may get a kick out of some free process templates I've made available at Visualstrategist.com:
